HuaBang Express Sensitive Item Declaration screen

Actual HuaBang pre-alert screen: declare the item types and add accurate details.

Can Bluetooth earbuds, skincare products, snacks or a power bank be forwarded together with clothing? Start by identifying the characteristics of each item, then confirm the destination and available shipping routes. This makes parcel forecasting and route selection clearer.

Keep this in mind: “items requiring shipping review” is a logistics review category. Marking an item as sensitive, seeing a route for sensitive items, or having a parcel received at the warehouse does not mean the product has been approved for shipping or import. Before buying it or sending it to the warehouse, ask HuaBang Express customer service to confirm the requirements for the actual product and destination.

1. What are items requiring shipping review?

In the HuaBang Express system, sensitive item types include liquids, battery-powered products, pastes and creams, well-known brands, knives, cosmetics, plants, powders, magnetic items, food, medicines and standalone batteries. These categories help you declare parcel contents accurately for further review.

These business labels are different from air transport dangerous goods classifications and destination-specific prohibitions or restrictions. For example, branded products may require checks on authenticity and route conditions, while lithium batteries involve aviation safety requirements. Some everyday products can also be classified as dangerous goods and require professional assessment; the product name alone is not enough to determine this. Reference: IATA dangerous goods information.

This illustration helps you identify the characteristics of different goods. Shipping eligibility must be confirmed for each item and each route.

2. What are some common examples?

Use the following table as a checklist when requesting a quote or forecasting a parcel. It is not a list of items approved for shipping.

Category Common examples Information to provide before sending to the warehouse
Battery-powered products Bluetooth earbuds, phones, battery-powered toys, small appliances Battery type, model, capacity label, quantity, and whether the battery is installed in the device
Standalone batteries and battery products Power banks, spare batteries, battery packs State that the item is a standalone battery and provide its model, rated specifications and photos showing its condition; ask about it separately from devices with installed batteries
Liquids, pastes, creams and cosmetics Shampoo, face cream, serum, lipstick Ingredients, volume per item, quantity, whether it contains alcohol, and whether it is an aerosol or a pressurized container
Powders Loose face powder, protein powder, powdered ingredients or materials Full product name, intended use, ingredients and photos of the original packaging; distinguish food powders from chemical powders
Food Tea, snacks, seasonings, dietary supplements Ingredients, country or region of origin, packaging, shelf life and quantity; specify whether it contains meat, eggs, dairy or similar ingredients
Magnetic items Magnets, some speakers and motors Model, intended use, magnetic characteristics and packaging method; ask whether testing or additional handling is required
Plants and medicines Seeds, plant products, medicines Specific type, ingredients, intended use and destination; confirm import conditions and required documents first
Branded products and knives Branded shoes or bags, kitchen knives or tools Product link, authenticity or purchase documentation, intended use and specifications; check intellectual property, import and route conditions separately

Distinguish power banks from devices with installed batteries. Lithium battery shipments must be reviewed according to battery type and how the batteries are packed or installed. Batteries recalled for safety reasons, damaged batteries, or batteries that pose a fire risk cannot be treated as ordinary battery-powered products. If you notice swelling, leakage or abnormal heating, stop the shipment and consult a qualified professional first. Reference: IATA battery transport guidance.

Food, plants and medicines may also be subject to import restrictions at the destination. Sealed packaging, a small quantity for personal use, or a gift designation does not replace the required review. For example, the United States has specific conditions for importing certain plant and animal products by express courier. Requirements for other destinations must be checked separately. Reference: USDA APHIS guidance on imports by express courier.

3. Which items especially need confirmation first?

Perfume, nail polish, pressurized aerosols, lighters, fuels, some cleaning products and chemicals may be flammable, pressurized or have other dangerous properties. Fireworks should not be sent to the warehouse as ordinary parcels either. If the packaging carries flammable, corrosive, toxic or pressure warnings, provide photos of the labels to customer service and obtain clear handling instructions before arranging shipment. Reference: FedEx guide to identifying common hidden dangerous goods.

Do not remove original labels, declare goods under a different name, conceal batteries, or repackage unidentified liquids or powders for shipment. Original packaging and complete information help identify goods correctly. Ordinary protective packaging does not replace dangerous goods shipping requirements.

4. How do I forecast a parcel containing these items in HuaBang Express?

  1. Sign in, open Forecast Parcels, and click New Forecast.
  2. Enter the domestic tracking number, courier and product details. Use a clear name that describes the actual contents, and enter the quantity and unit price accurately.
  3. Under Sensitive Item Declaration, select This parcel contains sensitive items.
  4. Choose the applicable Sensitive Item Type, then add battery specifications, ingredients, volume or other relevant details under Sensitive Item Description. A single product may fall into more than one category.
  5. Review the information and click Submit Forecast. A parcel forecast provides information about the parcel; shipping conditions still need to be confirmed for the goods, packaging, destination and selected route.

If you are unsure which type to choose, send the product link and photos of its labels to customer service first. Do not remove the sensitive item flag to make more routes appear. You can manage forecasts in your HuaBang Express account or ask for help through Contact Us.

5. A checklist to send to customer service

Copy the following template and provide the information for each item:

Destination country/region:

Product name, intended use and link:

Quantity and volume/weight per item:

Does it contain an installed battery, a standalone battery, liquid, paste or cream, powder, magnetic material, food, or similar contents?

Battery model and capacity label, or photos of the ingredient list/warning labels:

Is it in its original packaging? Photos of the product and packaging:

Please confirm: whether it can be sent to the warehouse, available routes, required documents, packaging requirements and fees.

Customer service may need additional manufacturer information, test details or supporting documents, depending on the goods and the route. Carriers may also impose additional restrictions, so follow the outcome of the review for that shipment. Reference: DHL information on what you can ship.

6. Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between items requiring shipping review and prohibited items?

Items requiring shipping review are a business category used in the system. Prohibited or restricted items are subject to laws, import regulations and carrier requirements. The categories can overlap. Selecting a sensitive item type does not make a prohibited item eligible for shipping.

Can phones, Bluetooth earbuds and power banks be forecast in the same way?

Specify whether the battery is installed in a device or shipped separately, along with its model and capacity. Ask about a power bank separately as a battery product; do not describe it only as an “electronic accessory.”

Are all skincare products ordinary liquids?

Ingredients and packaging need to be checked. Face creams, perfumes containing alcohol, nail polish and pressurized aerosols may have different review requirements. Provide the exact product name and labels.

Can food be shipped as long as it is sealed?

Sealing is only one aspect of the packaging. Ingredients, origin, destination import regulations and route restrictions also need to be confirmed, especially for animal-derived ingredients, plants, seeds and medicines.

Can items requiring review be consolidated or included in a group shipment with ordinary goods?

Confirm that the selected route can carry every item in the box before deciding to consolidate parcels or join a group shipment. Ordinary goods do not cancel out the characteristics that require review. For the steps, see the HuaBang Express illustrated group shipping guide.

If a parcel is already in the warehouse or the system shows a route, can it be shipped immediately?

The actual goods, packaging and current route conditions still need to be checked. If an item does not meet the requirements, contact HuaBang Express customer service to confirm how it should be handled next.

What if I forgot to declare a sensitive item?

If the forecast is still pending arrival and shows Edit, add the relevant types and description. Once the parcel has arrived at the warehouse, contact HuaBang Express customer service to check the warehouse parcel information; the forecast can no longer be edited. Never remove a sensitive flag to obtain more route options.
