Why is there a margin of error in handmade bamboo strips or bamboo strips silk?

Because the moso bamboo itself gradually becomes thinner from the bamboo root to the bamboo tip, the bamboo fibers are actually becoming thinner and thinner. manual shaving is done along the bamboo fibers, and the fiber structure is basically not changed (so the manual strips have good toughness and are not easy to break). therefore, the bamboo strips cut out by hand are thicker near the bamboo root slot and thinner near the bamboo tip. it will be much better if the scraper is scraped by hand (the smoothing process will also scrape off the thick parts and make them thinner); if it is a machine bamboo strip, there is no such problem. after the machine adjusts the size, it is forced by metal rollers to press the bamboo strips into it and split them. the thick slot is flattened, and the surface of the bamboo strips that come out looks fine. in fact, the internal fibers have been broken, so it is easier to break. as for chemical soaking, some are for the convenience of machine processing, and some are for color!
