The role of mordant
Alum:Choose alum for light and bright colors
Green alum:Choose alum for gray and dark colors
Blue alum:For brownish or greenish tones, or darker shades, choose alum.
Rust water:Achieve a deeper charcoal gray and darker shades than alum can produce.
 
Instructions for mordant use
Alum:Dissolve with hot water above 60 degrees celsius, just enough water to soak the fabric
Blue alum:Dissolve in 40 degrees celsius normal temperature water, the water should be enough to soak the fabric
Green alum:Dissolve in 40 degrees celsius normal temperature water, just enough water to soak the fabric
Rust water:Dissolve in 40 degrees celsius normal temperature water, just enough water to soak the fabric
